Meals on Wheels North Carolina

Approved by Board of Directors: April 2020 and July 2020

SECU Foundation awarded Meals on Wheels North Carolina a $500,000 grant to aid in relief and recovery efforts from the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant helped to address increased food insecurities of North Carolina’s senior adult population during the pandemic. Funding aided the non-profit to augment resources and delivery of nutritional meals for vulnerable seniors statewide, including hundreds who have been on a waiting list for meal assistance.

In continued support of COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts, SECU Foundation awarded Meals on Wheels North Carolina an additional $500,000 grant in July 2020. The grant provided statewide support for Meals on Wheels NC to deliver food resources to over 43,000 homebound senior adults through a network of programs in all 100 counties.
