SECU Foundation awarded UNCF (United Negro College Fund) a $200,000 grant to offer financial assistance to students attending one of the state’s five Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) within the UNC system who are experiencing financial insecurity in various ways. The grant will help support the Emergency Student Aid program created to assist students impacted by the pandemic or other unexpected hardships. The UNCF was founded in 1944 to provide educational opportunities and financial funding for African Americans and other minority youth.
